Job summary

Snowflake is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for Capacity Engineering to design and operate the platform that unifies CPU and GPU allocation, provisioning, and utilization across AWS, Azure, and GCP. You will model demand, manage fleet health, and drive efficiency in a high-growth, multi-cloud environment.

You will lead efforts across forecasting, procurement, and integration with core services to ensure capacity meets evolving AI/ML workloads.

Qualifications

• 7+ years designing, building, and supporting large-scale systems in production.

Responsibilities

• Design and build the capacity platform unifying CPU and GPU allocation, procurement, and utilization across all clouds.
• Ingest and reconcile demand forecasts and provider signals into a single canonical capacity model.
• Serve as liaison to cloud providers managing vendor relationships in capacity planning and procurement.
• Build planning and allocation systems translating demand into hardware requirements with real-time fleet visibility.
• Drive efficiency by instrumenting utilization and optimizing price/performance.
• Incorporate hardware evolution into the platform with new CPU/GPU generations and cross-family fallbacks.
• Partner with services, warehouse, AI/ML, and finance to forecast and procure capacity ahead of launches.
• Ensure high availability, reliability, and performance through on-call rotations and incident management.
