Director of Business Development, Space - Remote | U.S. - Aerospace Components️

A technology company with a long-standing reputation in advanced sensing and motion systems is seeking a Director of Space Business Development. This is a strategic, high-impact role focused on expanding commercial presence across the space sector. You’ll drive new business across LEO, MEO, and GEO programs by building strong relationships with key aerospace customers and aligning technical capabilities to emerging market needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead growth initiatives across the space domain with a focus on strategic client acquisition
  • Sell complex electromechanical components and subsystems into commercial and government programs
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, proposals, and operations to align technical delivery with customer goals
  • Develop and execute go-to-market strategies that expand footprint within space primes and integrators
  • Maintain accurate reporting and pipeline tracking through Salesforce
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and customer site visits
  • Serve as a key contributor to broader business development strategy as the company enters its next growth phase

Key Requirements:

  • Proven track record of business development success within the space sector
  • Familiarity with space system technologies such as communications, guidance, imaging, or tracking subsystems
  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to sell into engineering-led environments
  • Experience selling into primes, integrators, or major aerospace/defense contractors
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Comfortable with regular travel and remote work structure
  • Based near a major US airport preferred
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to operate autonomously in a fast-paced environment
