Position Overview:
We are seeking a results-driven and technically knowledgeable Director of Business Development to lead sales growth in defense-grade antennas, satellite communication systems, and RF solutions. This role will focus on expanding our presence within the Department of Defense (DoD), defense contractors, and system integrators. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tactical and strategic SATCOM markets, with experience managing complex capture efforts in highly regulated environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a growth strategy targeting DoD programs and defense prime contractors for satellite communications, RF antennas, and related technologies.
- Identify and qualify new business opportunities through active engagement with government customers, defense integrators, and channel partners.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with procurement officers, program managers, and technical leads across defense agencies.
- Lead capture and proposal efforts, including shaping requirements, responding to RFIs/RFPs, and negotiating contract terms.
- Work closely with engineering and product development to align offerings with mission requirements and customer needs.
- Monitor market trends, military modernization initiatives, and satellite/RF technology developments to inform business strategy.
- Represent the company at defense trade shows (e.g., Satellite, AUSA, SOFIC), conferences, and industry briefings.
- Provide leadership to a team of capture managers or business development staff, where applicable.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field (Master’s or MBA preferred).
- 8–12 years of experience in defense sales or business development, specifically in SATCOM, RF, or antenna technologies.
- Proven track record securing large DoD or prime contractor contracts ($5M+).
- Strong understanding of defense acquisition lifecycle, FAR/DFARS, and technology procurement.
- Technical understanding of satellite networks, antenna design, RF propagation, and military communications is highly desirable.
- Existing relationships within DISA, U.S. Space Force, or service-specific program offices (Army, Navy, etc.) is a plus.
- Ability to travel 25–40% domestically and internationally as required.
- Active Secret or higher clearance preferred.
