Job summary

Montage International is seeking a Director of Beverage to lead beverage operations across its food and beverage outlets. You will develop cocktail programs, recruit and coach sommeliers, bartenders, and servers, and collaborate with leadership to optimize pricing, inventory, and guest experiences.

Ideal candidates have at least four years of beverage supervisory or management experience, wine and spirit knowledge, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• A minimum of four years of beverage supervisory or management experience.
• Experience as a beverage buyer with extensive wine and spirit knowledge.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to prepare and analyze data and figures.
• Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
• Luxury hotel experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Establish and oversee alcoholic beverage training for front-of-house staff.
• Establish and maintain relationships with key vendors.
• Partner with GM's and Department heads to create cocktail programs for each outlet.
• Assist as manager in restaurant outlets as needed.
• Collaborate with the Director of Food & Beverage to design pricing strategies.
• Review inventory, pricing, POS programming, and cost controls.
• Provide direct service to guests when needed (bartending, seating).
• Ensure the department abides by safety and sanitation policies.
• Recruit, hire, train, and supervise sommeliers, servers, bartenders, and staff.
• Create and maintain staffing schedules.
• Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
• Implement cost controls and revenue enhancement strategies.
• Maintain high standards of service, food quality, and presentation.
• Deliver on guests' expectations and WOW moments.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
