Job summary

Truman Medical Center is seeking a Behavioral Health Program Director II for the Crisis Department in Kansas City, MO. The role entails clinical and administrative oversight of multiple BH programs, with collaboration across senior leadership to set long-term strategies and budgets.

The Director will coordinate with external agencies and internal departments, producing executive reports and driving service improvements in a 24/7 environment.

Qualifications

• Master’s or doctoral degree in a related human services field approved by Missouri.
• Qualified Mental Health Provider status required (e.g., social worker, RN, or licensed counselor).
• Clinical licensure in Missouri if role includes management of a clinical practice.
• 5+ years of healthcare management experience.
• Ability to present executive-level reports and proposals with analytics.
• Strategic thinking and independent judgment to ensure operational integrity.
• Strong statistical and financial background.
• Excellent communication, professionalism, and presence.
• Ability to liaise with internal chairs, medical staff, and external agencies.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and administrative oversight to multiple programs and service lines.
• Collaborate with BH Senior Leadership on budget planning and FY activities.
• Establish long-term strategies and short-term goals for assigned areas.
