Job summary

Avantus is seeking a Sr. Manager or Director, Storage Engineering to lead storage system design, collaboration, and execution for PV+S projects in California and the Desert Southwest.

You will partner with battery suppliers, EPCs, plant controllers, and inverter vendors to optimize BESS integration, performance, and cost while advancing PPA obligations and project scheduling. A strong background in BESS engineering and utility-scale experience is required.

Qualifications

• Must have strong experience with BESS technology, performance, guarantees, integration, and design.
• Experience with utility-scale battery EPC contracting from buyer or seller perspective.
• Experience with BESS guarantees terms, integration, and design.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional teams to ensure scope coverage for BESS execution to fit offtake or project needs.
• Estimate component cost and performance with battery suppliers and EPC contractors for PV+S projects.
• Collaborate with suppliers and contractors to build investor confidence in new technology and reduce storage costs.
