Avantus in California is seeking a Manager or Sr. Manager, Development Engineering to lead mid- to late-stage PV+Storage projects, guiding cross-functional teams through site constructability, geotech and hydro study impacts, and design levers to improve cost and performance.

The role emphasizes building efficient processes, collaborating with Optimization, Permitting, EPC and Procurement, and advancing design optimization for LCOE as projects move from development to EPC.

Qualifications

• 5-10+ years of relevant experience in utility-scale solar.
• Engineering degree, Civil preferred.
• Commercially minded engineer who can dive into details but see the bigger picture.

Responsibilities

• Lead and bridge Development Engineering and Estimating teams within cross-functional groups.
• Assess constructability and drive cost/benefit based on site conditions and design layout.
• Guide risk/opportunity discussions across project stages with limited information.
