Job summary

Millennium Space Systems in the Boeing family seeks a Senior Manager of Avionics Engineering to lead the hardware engineering team for spacecraft avionics. You will set strategy, align programs, and ensure resources to exceed customer expectations while collaborating with peers and VPs.

You will partner across Manufacturing, Quality, and Safety to maintain robust design standards, drive manufacturability, and deliver on aggressive milestones with a focus on risk management and technical

Qualifications

• 14+ years engineering experience with PM responsibilities in aerospace/defense.
• 4 years as a functional manager.
• Experience as Project Lead or functional manager in spacecraft development.
• Knowledge of satellite systems and components.
• Hardware design/analysis for spacecraft avionics.
• Experience with electrical test equipment and power systems.
• Design for Manufacturability and sustainment; safety and reliability focus.
• Ability to obtain US Security Clearance; US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Set technical direction and standards for the engineering team.
• Establish KPIs aligned with company goals and measure performance.
• Oversee program schedules, staffing plans, and resource management.
• Review proposals and technical baselines; manage bid efforts.
• Coordinate with Manufacturing, Quality and Safety to ensure manufacturability.
• Scale designs across portfolios and manage process improvements.
• Lead talent development, regular 1:1s and performance reviews.
• Mentor front-line managers and sponsor cross-team innovations.
