Job summary

BNY Mellon is seeking a Director of AI / Machine Learning Engineering to join its AI Hub in Lake Mary, FL. This hands-on leadership role focuses on delivering production-grade AI solutions that enhance the software development lifecycle.

You will lead a team of AI/ML engineers, set technical direction, evaluate frameworks, and collaborate with engineering and business stakeholders to drive measurable impact.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software development experience; securities/financial services a plus.
• Advanced AI/ML experience, 10+ years, including model development and production deployment.
• Demonstrated experience leading technical teams and mentoring engineers.
• Hands-on technical leader with delivery ownership.
• Strong enterprise software practices; secure, scalable AI architectures.
• Ability to communicate technical ideas to engineers, partners, and executives.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and delivery of applied AI solutions for engineering use cases.
• Provide technical direction and execution leadership for ML/AI products.
• Drive prototyping and evaluation of tools/frameworks for scalable plans.
• Partner with engineering and business stakeholders to define success metrics and impact.
• Lead and coach a team of AI/ML engineers and foster technical excellence.
• Ensure trusted, secure, production-grade AI capabilities across the software lifecycle.
