Job summary

Archer, collaborating with BNY, seeks a Director of AI/ML to lead the AI Hub in Lake Mary, FL. This hands-on senior technical leader will design, build, and scale AI-powered tools and platforms that transform how engineers design, test, and operate software.

The role requires 12+ years in software development and 10+ years in applied AI/ML, with strong leadership, architecture, and production deployment experience in enterprise environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in computer science, engineering or related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
• 12+ years of experience in software development.
• Advanced experience, preferably 10+ years, in applied AI/ML, model development, and software engineering, including production deployment.
• Demonstrated experience leading technical teams and mentoring engineers.
• Hands-on technical leader with architecture, delivery, and ownership.
• Strong understanding of enterprise software practices, MLOps/LLMOps, evaluation frameworks, secure scalable AI architectures.
• Ability to clearly communicate technical ideas to engineers, product partners, and senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and delivery of applied AI solutions hands-on, providing technical direction for ML/AI products.
• Bring deep knowledge of Applied AI, LLMs, fine tuning, model evaluation, and fit-for-purpose models for engineering use cases.
• Drive technical discovery, prototyping, and evaluation of tools and model approaches with practical recommendations.
• Partner with engineering and business stakeholders to understand roadmaps and success measures.
• Lead and manage a team of AI/ML engineers, coaching and developing talent and fostering technical excellence.
• Apply AI to improve the software development lifecycle with secure, production-grade capabilities.
• Contribute to architectural and delivery practices across the organization.
