Job summary

Archer, in collaboration with BNY, seeks a Vice President, AI / Machine Learning Engineer to join our AI Hub in New York. You will lead applied AI initiatives, build production-grade ML systems, and guide engineers on scalable, secure AI capabilities across the software development lifecycle.

The role requires deep hands-on expertise in AI/ML, model development, and leadership. You will mentor teams, partner with stakeholders, and drive measurable business impact in a financial services setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience
• 5-9 years of software development experience, preferably in financial services
• 8+ years of applied AI/ML, model development, and production solutions
• Hands-on technical lead with ability to guide design, implementation and delivery
• Strong knowledge of MLOps / LLMOps and secure, scalable AI solutions
• Excellent ability to communicate complex ideas to engineers, product partners, and business stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of applied AI solutions with hands-on technical leadership
• Apply expertise in LLMs, fine tuning, model evaluation, and copilots for engineering use cases
• Conduct research, prototyping, and evaluation of model/tooling approaches
• Partner with engineering and business stakeholders to define priorities and success metrics
• Mentor engineers and promote strong engineering practices across architecture, reliability, and responsible AI adoption
