Jobgether, on behalf of a partner, seeks a Director, Application Engineering in the United States to lead the development of secure, scalable software for clinical research operations. This hands-on leadership role blends design, delivery, and governance across the SDLC, with a focus on AI-assisted development and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software engineering with 3+ years leading teams.
• Experience delivering enterprise software in production.
• Hands-on development with web apps, APIs, data services.
• Experience improving SDLC practices including code reviews, testing, CI/CD, release management.
• Practical experience using AI-assisted development tools.
• Knowledge of cloud architecture and infrastructure-as-code.
• Ability to transform prototypes into scalable production solutions.
• Strong communication and technical documentation skills.
• Leadership, mentoring, and team development capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, deployment, and support of internally developed software for clinical research operations.
• Transform requirements and prototypes into secure, scalable production systems.
• Maintain hands-on involvement in design, architecture reviews, and code reviews.
• Oversee release management, deployment, and production readiness across the portfolio.
• Establish and improve SDLC standards, methodologies, and processes.
• Define best practices for code quality, testing, CI/CD, version control, and documentation.
• Lead AI-assisted development tools adoption with governance and compliance.
• Collaborate with Architecture, Systems, and Enterprise teams to align roadmaps.
• Ensure compliance with quality, validation, and regulatory standards.
