Job summary

Care Access is hiring a Director of Engineering to lead a SaaS-based product organization focused on the AI Patient Engagement Agent. You will guide the engineering managers and tech leads, shaping architecture and delivery across voice and messaging platforms for global clinical trials.

You will partner with Product and Design to translate trial protocols into scalable AI interactions, drive CI/CD maturity, and mentor a team delivering high-impact software while balancing speed and reliability.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading Engineering Managers and Tech Leads.
• Strong background in scalable cloud architecture, event-driven systems, or SaaS workflows.
• Track record shipping complex, data-intensive products on time.
• Proficiency in Agile/Scrum, sprint planning, and CI/CD.
• Active involvement in architectural reviews ensuring durability, security and scalability.
• Excellent ability to communicate technical strategies to non-technical stakeholders.
• Interest in conversational systems or AI/automation workflows welcomed.
• Experience in HealthTech/biotech or regulated data environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the Engineering organization, including managers and leads.
• Own and execute the AI Patient Engagement roadmap with Product and Design.
• Provide hands-on architectural guidance for real-time voice, messaging, and data pipelines.
• Balance feature delivery with platform stability and tech debt management.
• Refine Agile ceremonies and CI/CD practices to maintain velocity and quality.
• Manage team capacity, resource allocation, and cross-team collaboration.
• Foster an inclusive, high-accountability culture aligned to healthcare impact.
• Act as the technical point of contact across departments and leadership.
• Drive cross-functional communication and strategic updates for executives.
