Job summary

Benesch Law is seeking a Director of Knowledge Management in Cleveland to build and lead a modern KM function. You will work with a senior leadership team to deploy AI-enabled workflows, curate asset lifecycles, and drive practice-wide information governance.

The role reports to the Innovation Department and emphasizes delivery of practical knowledge solutions that improve client service and efficiency. A JD is preferred with strong leadership and governance skills.

Qualifications

• The Director should have a JD with at least eight years in legal knowledge management or related fields.
• Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills are required to lead cross-functional teams.
• Experience implementing AI-enabled knowledge management and document governance is highly valued.

Responsibilities

• Launch and scale the Knowledge Management function; hire and develop the team.
• Partner with Practice Groups, IT, Risk, and Governance to align KM with firm strategy.
• Own content governance, taxonomy, and lifecycle management across knowledge assets.
• Drive adoption of KM tools and measure outcomes including impact on client work.
• Collaborate with marketing and BD to leverage knowledge assets in client engagements.
