Job summary

Benesch, Friedlander, Coplan & Aronoff seeks a Director of Knowledge Management to build and lead a new KM function in Chicago. This senior role reports to the Innovation Department and drives the move from a repository model to AI-enabled knowledge solutions that surface firm expertise within workflows.

You will partner with Practice Groups, Risk, IT, and Governance to implement data taxonomy, governance, and best practices while scaling the KM team and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; JD strongly preferred.
• Minimum eight years of experience in legal knowledge management.
• Ability to translate client requirements into knowledge management priorities.
• Experience launching knowledge assets used in practice.

Responsibilities

• Design and lead evolution of KM from repository to AI-empowered function.
• Build and scale the KM department, partner with Practice Groups and IT.
• Oversee taxonomy, data governance, and content lifecycle.
• Drive adoption, measure outcomes, and support client-proximate metrics.
• Partner with Marketing/BD to leverage knowledge assets in proposals.
