Leadership role in AI strategy

Job summary

Humana seeks an accomplished AI leadership executive to steer the strategy, architecture, and delivery of enterprise-scale agentic AI capabilities within its AI platform. You will lead and grow a team of AI engineers building foundational services, frameworks, and tools for agentic AI applications.

Stay current with generative AI trends, drive cross-functional alignment, and mentor a culture of experimentation and excellence.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree (Ph.D. or Master’s) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in AI/ML engineering.
• At least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Proficiency in TensorFlow and PyTorch.
• Proficiency in Python.
• Proficiency in AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Proven track record of leading and growing high-performing engineering teams.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the strategy, architecture, and delivery of enterprise-scale agentic AI capabilities within Humana’s AI platform
• Lead and grow a team of AI engineers building foundational services, frameworks, and tools for agentic AI applications
• Stay current with generative AI trends, including foundation models, evaluation techniques, retrieval-augmented generation, fine-tuning approaches, and open-source tooling
• Drive cross-functional alignment with enterprise architecture, security, data engineering, DevOps, and application leads
• Mentor and coach AI engineers and foster a culture of experimentation, humility, and excellence
• Ensure CI/CD, automated testing, observability, and incident response for team-owned services
• Define and drive strategic plans, goals, and team performance for company-wide agentic AI initiatives
• Collaborate with application teams to design reusable components for complex challenges on the agentic AI platform
• Lead development involving LLM orchestration frameworks, experiment tracking, evaluation pipelines, model proxies/gateways, and observability
• Solve highly complex problems with long-term impacts
