Job summary

Oracle is seeking a Director of Engineering to lead the NXI team within OCI's Strategic Customer Engineering. You will guide a right-sized organization of managers and engineers, delivering production-grade solutions for AI infrastructure as customers adopt new accelerator platforms and regions.

You will drive platform bring-up, workload onboarding, and production readiness, coordinating with Compute, Networking, Storage, and Product teams to meet customer deployment needs and milestones.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software/infrastructure engineering experience, or distributed systems, including cloud/AI infrastructure.
• 5+ years of engineering leadership, managing managers and multiple teams.
• Experience working with demanding customers to deploy and operate complex infrastructure at scale.
• Technical depth in accelerated computing, Linux, high-performance networking, and distributed systems.
• Proven success delivering technical projects across organizational boundaries.
• Strong executive communication and judgment to explain risks and tradeoffs.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead an organization of engineering managers and senior customer and infrastructure engineers.
• Own onboarding from requirements discovery to platform bring-up and production readiness.
• Lead validation of new accelerator platforms; define benchmarking and regression testing.
• Agree measurable acceptance criteria with customers for workload throughput and reliability.
• Collaborate with Compute, Networking, Storage, Product, Operations teams to align product readiness with customer plans.
• Serve as senior technical escalation lead for the customer portfolio and communicate progress to executives.
• Translate customer findings into engineering requirements and roadmap priorities.
• Develop automation, diagnostics, and onboarding playbooks to accelerate production across generations.
