Job summary

Oracle is seeking a Director of Software Engineering for its OCI Networking division to lead high-availability, large-scale distributed services powering cloud infrastructure. The role focuses on engineering leadership, architectural excellence, and delivering complex projects with cross-org collaboration.

You will grow engineering leaders, drive priorities, and partner across OCI Networking to ensure scalable, reliable control and management systems for the cloud platform.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience leading engineering teams building and operating highly available, production-grade distributed systems or cloud infrastructure.
• Experience managing engineering managers and/or senior technical leaders.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and software architecture.
• Familiarity with networking fundamentals and configuration management is highly desirable.
• Experience with modern software development and deployment practices, including CI/CD pipelines and large-scale deployment workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop software engineering teams through engineering managers and technical leads.
• Drive execution of technical and organizational priorities, ensuring delivery of reliable, scalable, and operable services.
• Partner with teams across OCI Networking to design and deliver large-scale cloud infrastructure.
• Establish strong engineering practices and operational excellence for production distributed systems.
• Deliver complex projects on time with high quality while effectively managing dependencies, risks, and priorities.
• Develop engineering leaders and create an environment that supports technical excellence, collaboration, and growth.
