Snowflake, a leader in AI-powered analytics, seeks a Director of Engineering for the AI Functions product portfolio. This hybrid director/principal engineer position shapes architecture, guides the product roadmap, and drives a world-class engineering organization across global teams.

You will recruit, mentor, and empower senior engineers, lead cross-functional programs from conception to delivery, and foster a culture of innovation with practical decision-making to scale Snowflake’s AI

Qualifications

2+ years in engineering director role with people management responsibilities.
10+ years of software engineering experience with hands-on work.
Advanced degree in Computer Science.
Deep experience with AI infrastructure and LLMs.
Excellent collaboration and communication across global organizations.
Experience building large-scale query processing or distributed systems.

Responsibilities

Create and own architecture and design for the AI Functions portfolio; influence product roadmap.
Set the strategic vision for the team and drive accountability for plans and deliverables.
Lead projects from ideation through implementation with cross-functional teams.
Hire, develop, and mentor senior technical leaders; grow engineering capability.
Improve engineering efficiency and evolve organizational structure while maintaining high standards.
