Job summary

Medidata is seeking a Director of Software Engineering to lead multiple engineering teams globally within the Platform team. The role focuses on cloud-native architectures hosted on AWS, driving AI-augmented workflows and Spec-Driven Development to deliver scalable, high-quality products.

The director will report to the Senior Director of Software Engineering and guide the organization through modernization, data-driven decisions, and cross-functional collaboration with product, PMO, and QA.

Qualifications

• Typically requires 10+ years of related technical experience with a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in team leadership and people management.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple engineering teams globally.
• Drive adoption of AI-augmented workflows and Spec-Driven Development (SDD).
• Balance 60% high-value feature delivery, 30% architectural modernization and debt reduction, 10% operations.
• Collaborate with architects and cross-functional teams to realize the technical vision.
• Maintain software engineering best practices and ensure quality.
