Job summary

Meta is seeking a Director Software Engineering for Central Security in the United States. You will define IAM strategy across production Linux, Windows AD, SaaS, and cloud, while leading a diverse team of software and security engineers.

You will drive agent identity models, build automated controls at scale, and partner with Product, Infrastructure and HR. You will report to senior leadership, balancing security with operational velocity across global teams.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software engineering focusing on security or identity
• 7+ years in engineering management including managers
• Proven ability to build and scale engineering organizations
• Experience forming partnerships across product, design, data science to deliver large-scale outcomes
• Experience using metrics and data with understanding of statistical uncertainty and trade-offs

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the multi-year technical strategy for identity, authentication, and access management across Meta's infrastructure
• Lead the development of a credible model for agent identity and authorization as AI agents act on behalf of people
• Build and scale a distributed, multi-disciplinary engineering organization across global sites
• Partner with Security, Infrastructure, HR, Legal and others to trade off security and operational velocity
• Represent identity and access perspectives to leadership including CTO, CISO
• Drive measurable reduction in access-related incidents by closing root-cause patterns
• Lead the move from manual access approvals to automated controls at scale
• Define and enforce access policy to support regulatory obligations
• Develop controls for geographic expansion into higher-threat environments
• Serve as escalation point for urgent, confidential escalations
