Meta's Central Security team is seeking a Director of Software Engineering to lead identity, authentication, and access management across our infrastructure. You will build a scalable security organization and partner with product, infrastructure, HR, and legal to translate business needs into security decisions.

You will guide AI/ML-enabled security initiatives, manage cross-functional engineers and security personnel, and advocate for essential investments at the CTO/CISO level while balancing

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software engineering with a security focus.
• 7+ years leading engineering managers and teams.
• Experience building scalable security organizations.
• Proven cross-functional partnerships with product, design, and data science.
• Strong ability to reason with metrics, data, and trade-offs.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive multi-year IAM strategy across Meta infrastructure.
• Lead model development for agent identity and authorization.
• Scale a distributed organization of engineers and security staff globally.
• Translate business needs into security-velocity trade-offs.
• Interface with leadership (VPs/CTO/CISO) on investments and risk.
• Reduce access-related incidents by addressing root causes.
• Automate access controls and replace manual processes at scale.
• Define and enforce access policy for regulatory compliance.
• Develop controls for geographic expansion into higher-threat regions.
• Escalate urgently on identity and access-related matters.
