Job summary

Bio-Rad Laboratories in Irvine, CA seeks a Director of Agentic Software Engineering to define architecture and drive production-grade AI-enabled platforms. You will lead design, review progress with senior leaders, and guide hands-on work across full-stack engineering and cloud platforms to implement agentic workflows and RAG-based retrieval.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 15+ years of progressive software engineering experience with 5+ years in architecture or senior leadership.
• Experience leading distributed engineering teams across multiple time zones.
• Proven track record delivering enterprise-grade systems and governance for responsible AI.

Responsibilities

• Define architecture and lead design/development of production-grade systems with Generative AI and RAG-based retrieval across Bio-Rad platforms.
• Mentor Senior Managers, Managers, and Principal Engineers across Agentic Software Engineering.
• Establish MLOps/LLMOps practices and CI/CD, IaC, containerization per platform standards.
• Present delivery progress and technical risk to executives; partner with Architecture for tooling decisions.
• Represent engineering in executive forums and strategic planning with Technology and Architecture.
