Job summary

ON.energy is seeking a Director of Advanced Solutions Engineering to lead integration of power tech across microgrids, testbeds, and first-of-kind deployments. You will build an execution-focused R&D vertical that links product development, controls, and operations while steering a senior engineering team.

You will own complex programs, set technical ownership, and drive risk management, supplier diligence, and documentation across electrical, controls, and field teams.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 7+ years in power systems, microgrids, energy storage, or related fields with leadership.
• Strong knowledge of BESS, PCS/inverters, DC systems, transformers, switchgear, protection, EMS/SCADA, PLCs, and industrial communications.

Responsibilities

• Define integrated solutions combining BESS, PCS, generation, switchgear, transformers, protection, EMS, and loads.
• Lead grid-connected/islanded controls architecture, operating modes, protection, and sequencing.
• Own high-complexity programs; establish ownership, interfaces, deliverables, criteria, and escalation paths.
