Job summary

The Wellspring Foundation seeks an experienced clinical leader to serve as Adult Program Director, overseeing the clinical care and daily operations of our adult residential treatment program in Connecticut. This role blends program leadership with direct clinical practice, supervising staff, coordinating psychiatric and milieu services, and ensuring integrated, evidence-based care for residents.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a relevant field and CT licensure.
• 5–10 years of applied therapeutic experience with adults.
• Strong clinical judgment and collaborative leadership.
• Knowledge of regulations, documentation, and quality improvement.
• Ability to build an accountable, supportive team.

Responsibilities

• Lead integrated clinical care: Coordinate treatment services that respond to residents’ needs and support respectful engagement with residents and families.
• Provide direct clinical services: Conduct intake interviews and assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and fulfill senior psychotherapist responsibilities.
• Supervise and develop staff: Provide clinical and administrative guidance, address performance and personnel concerns, and foster teamwork and positive morale.
• Strengthen staff skills: Assess competencies and training needs, develop staff development plans, and provide education, coaching, and training.
• Manage program operations: Oversee staffing, schedules, activities, budget management, and safety, ensuring appropriate coverage and staffing ratios.
• Maintain quality and compliance: Oversee clinical documentation and medical records, maintain applicable accreditation and licensing standards, and review and update program policies and procedures.
• Guide program improvement: Partner with the COO, CEO, and Senior Clinical Director and other leaders to evaluate services, address emerging needs, and strengthen program effectiveness.
• Build community relationships: Collaborate with external affairs staff to maintain relationships with referral sources and alumni and represent Wellspring at relevant events and conferences.
