NEW MEXICO BEHAVIORAL HEALTHCARE LL is seeking a Director of Admissions to provide strategic leadership and operational oversight of the admissions department in a psychiatric hospital. The role centers on efficient, compliant, patient-centered intake, aligning admission strategy with organizational goals, and partnering with clinical leadership, business development, and external partners.

The Director drives census growth, coordinates with nursing and clinical staff to assess acuity, and leads

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Social Worker counseling or RN license with equivalent experience.
• Minimum 4 years in behavioral health inpatient healthcare management.
• Must be 21+ with valid driver’s license, Level I NMHCA Fingerprint Clearance.
• Flexible, strong communication and leadership skills.
• Willing to work flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates and coordinates patient admissions to ensure timely treatment.
• Provides concise clinical information about patients to the multi-disciplinary team.
• Assesses level of care using crisis criteria and documents results.
• Maintains knowledge of community resources and regulatory requirements.
• Ensures compliance with HIPAA, Joint Commission, and other standards.
• Leads admissions staff and collaborates with leadership on strategy.
• Monitors census, throughput, and discharge planning with management.
