FOCUSPOINT is seeking a Director of Accounting to lead month-end close, journal entries, and general ledger integrity across multiple business units in a fully remote role.

This hands-on leadership position requires building a high-performing team, owning end-to-end processes, and partnering with business-unit leaders on financial reporting, reconciliations, and process improvements.

CPA preferred; 7+ years of progressive accounting experience; 2+ years managing a team; ERP experience are valued.

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• 2+ years leading or managing an accounting team.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, general ledger accounting, and month-end close processes.
• Experience with ERP and financial reporting systems.
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of accountants handling journal entry preparation, review, and posting.
• Own the monthly close process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and proper support for all entries.
• Perform and oversee balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis.
• Serve as the go-to resource for complex accounting questions and technical guidance.
• Partner cross-functionally with business unit leaders on financial reporting needs.
• Drive process improvement, standardization, and automation opportunities.
• Support internal and external audit requests.
• Set and manage team performance goals and provide ongoing coaching.
