ACCEL Schools is seeking a Director of Academics in Dayton, Ohio to lead Montgomery Preparatory Academy’s instructional program and staff toward higher student achievement. The role emphasizes rigorous standards, differentiated instruction, and effective use of data.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in education, a valid teaching certificate, five years of teaching experience, and two years in instructional leadership. ACCEL offers competitive compensation and a strong national network.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education; Master’s preferred.
• Active professional teacher certification.
• Minimum of five years’ experience as a successful teacher.
• Two years’ experience in instructional leadership (preferred).
• Experience using multiple data sources to inform instruction.

Responsibilities

• Guide teachers in using instructional materials and differentiating instruction.
• Review lesson plans weekly and conduct observations.
• Provide feedback, professional development and coaching to teachers.
• Analyze data to identify barriers to achievement and guide improvements.
• Coordinate special projects and engage families and the community.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
