Job summary

University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) – School of Medicine, Pathology Department, is seeking a Director of Academic Administration to lead faculty and program operations in a complex academic clinical setting.

The role oversees recruitment, evaluation, policy application, and compliance, develops strategic goals, and ensures effective information systems and reporting. Strong leadership, change management, and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of administration or coordination of academic program or unit experience.
• Three (3) years of management/supervisory experience.
• Clery Act compliance responsibilities and related policy application knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage academic administrative issues in faculty and postdoctoral areas.
• Assist departments with administrative appointment policy application and compliance.
• Serve as primary information source for academic office and external agencies.
• Oversee survey responses and reporting at university and system levels.
• Ensure maintenance of the faculty tracking system and policies.
