Metric DCX have partnered with one of the most exciting data center developer / operators in the world, with a rapidly scaling global footprint, and the backing to deliver on it.
They are looking for a Director of Network Engineering & Operations, preferably based out of Dallas, Texas.
This position will be critical in keeping the networks behind some of the largest data center campuses in the world resilient, connected and ready for growth.
Day to day, you’ll be reporting to the SVP of Operations and Technology, owning the architecture, engineering and operation of network services across data centers, corporate locations and cloud connections. That means routing, switching, WAN/LAN, carrier connectivity and 24/6 network operations, as well as network budgets, carrier performance and circuit costs. You’ll partner with Infrastructure, Cybersecurity and Facilities, and be the person who signs off network designs before new and acquired sites go live. Expect some travel (10-25%) for site visits, vendor meetings and major deployments.
You will need to have operated in a similar position previously, with 10+ years in network engineering and operations and 5+ years leading technical teams. Experience in colocation or data center operations is ideal, but if not, telecommunications or service-provider networks. A strong grounding in BGP, EVPN/VXLAN and network automation is a must, and CCIE, CCNP or JNCIE-level expertise would be a real advantage.
The opportunity to shape the network of a business that is still growing, both personal and professionally, is exceptional.
I need someone with deep technical credibility who can lead from the front during a critical incident, negotiate hard with carriers, and be willing to be hands on within an organization that is still scaling.
