My client is seeking a Chief Data Center Officer to lead the operational strategy and execution across a growing global data center portfolio.

This is a senior executive role responsible for building a consistent operating model across multiple sites, ensuring new facilities are launched effectively and existing sites operate to the highest standards of reliability, safety and performance.

The successful candidate will bring deep data center operations experience, a strong mechanical or electrical engineering background, and the ability to work closely with teams across the US and Europe.

Key Responsibilities

• Own global data center operations across existing and future sites.
• Build consistent operating standards, processes and KPIs across the portfolio.
• Lead site and regional operations teams across multiple geographies.
• Drive operational readiness for new sites from commissioning through go-live.
• Partner closely with construction, engineering and commissioning teams.
• Provide senior technical oversight across mechanical and electrical infrastructure.
• Ensure strong standards around uptime, maintenance, incident response, safety and risk.
• Develop and scale SOPs, MOPs, EOPs and operational governance.
• Build and develop strong data center leadership teams.
• Support international expansion and the rollout of new locations.

Experience & Background

• Significant leadership experience within large-scale data center operations.
• Strong mechanical or electrical engineering background.
• Deep understanding of mission-critical infrastructure, uptime and operational risk.
• Experience leading multiple sites, regions or global portfolios.
• Proven experience taking new facilities from commissioning into live operations.
• Experience within hyperscale, colocation, cloud, neocloud or AI infrastructure environments.
• Fluent or professional-level French strongly preferred.
• Comfortable operating in a fast-growth, international organisation.
