Job summary

Emeren Group is seeking a Director NE Development to lead origination, development, and advancement of utility-scale battery storage projects in the Northeast US pipeline. You will own strategy, build relationships with landowners, utilities, regulators, and internal teams, reporting to the VP of Development & Commercial Execution.

You will hire and mentor a team, manage land acquisition, permits, and tax abatement negotiations, and coordinate with engineering, legal, finance, and asset

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in utility-scale renewable energy project development with solar PV and BESS, including project management responsibilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Environmental Studies or related field; graduate degree preferred.
• Experience in leading a team and managing projects across multiple US RTOs/ISOs.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategy and development activities for utility-scale projects including land acquisition, discretionary permits, and tax abatement negotiations.
• Assess impacts and risks across the development path and communicate mitigation plans to stakeholders.
• Hire, mentor, and manage a team of Project Developers and Analysts to advance a portfolio of projects.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders (landowners, utilities, regulators, consultants) to advance projects.
• Travel up to 50% of the time to support development activities.
