Job summary

The Frick Pittsburgh seeks a Director of Maintenance and Facilities Operations to lead Maintenance, Housekeeping, and Grounds & Horticulture. You will drive strategic operations, budgets, and capital planning while preserving historic buildings and ensuring safety and accessibility for visitors and staff.

You will work with senior leadership to align department goals with the museum’s mission, supervise department managers, and optimize vendor relationships.

Qualifications

• 5 years of Facilities/Operations supervisory/management experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree in related technical field or additional 2 years’ experience.
• Valid PA driver’s license and ability to pass a background check.
• Experience in museum, commercial, or institutional facilities is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead Maintenance, Housekeeping, and Grounds & Horticulture operations.
• Set department priorities, budgets, long-range plans, and policies.
• Develop capital plans and oversee major construction projects.
• Ensure safety, accessibility, and preservation of historic buildings.
• Manage vendor contracts and oversee facility-related expenditures.
• Collaborate with Curatorial to balance preservation with codes and visitor needs.
• Provide leadership as part of the senior management team.
