Job summary

Boston Public Schools is seeking a Director of Multilingual Learners (ML) for Madison Park Technical Vocational High in Boston, MA. The role leads ML program design, implementation, and evaluation for grades 9-12 to ensure equitable opportunities and strong academic outcomes.

The position reports to the Head of Schools and requires a Master’s degree, MA licensure in Sheltered English Instruction, and extensive leadership experience within ML programs and staff development.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in education with a concentration in Sheltered English Instruction Administration or related field.
• Massachusetts Supervisor/Director license or provisional with advanced standing or standard.
• Five or more years of teaching and managerial experience.
• Massachusetts teacher license in Sheltered English Instruction.
• Experience supervising and evaluating teachers as a professional developer.
• Knowledge of MA Curriculum Frameworks, Vocational Frameworks and Assessments.

Responsibilities

• Leads and oversees ML programs, including design, monitoring, and evaluation.
• Ensures compliance with district, state and federal guidelines.
• Provides leadership to ensure inclusion and rigorous academic preparation for ELLs.
• Oversee scheduling and instructional placement of ML students.
• Support differentiated instruction with staff through PD opportunities.
• Plan and implement school instructional initiatives aligned with standards.
• Model, co-teach, and observe in classes.
• Provide feedback to support ML staff and teachers.
• Collaborate with other directors to implement supports for students.
• Develop and maintain integration of learning across instructional areas.
