Job summary

The University of California San Diego (UCSD) seeks a neurologist to lead the interdisciplinary Parkinson and Other Movement Disorders Center (POMDC) as Professor and Director. The role emphasizes clinical care, teaching, and research leadership within UCSD’s Department of Neurosciences.

The selected candidate will oversee outpatient care, mentor faculty, and teach across graduate and clinical programs, while engaging with a broad spectrum of translational and basic science activities to advance

Qualifications

• MD or MD/PhD in a health-related field.
• Board certified or board eligible in Neurology.
• At least six years of experience in clinical care and clinical teaching.
• At least five years of funded research in Parkinson’s disease and/or related Movement Disorders.
• California medical license or equivalent certification/permit.

Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient care to movement disorder patients.
• Mentor junior faculty and teach graduate students, residents and fellows.
• Work in UCSD hospitals/clinics at La Jolla and Hillcrest locations.
• Engage with clinical, translational and basic science programs to raise national recognition.
• Lead deployment of the program’s philanthropic endowment and donor stewardship.
