Job summary

UC San Diego is seeking a neurologist to lead the Parkinson and Other Movement Disorders Center as Professor and Director, overseeing clinical care, teaching, and research across La Jolla and Hillcrest campuses.

The candidate will provide outpatient care, mentor faculty, and advance translational programs while managing a substantial philanthropic endowment and donor stewardship efforts to raise the center's national profile.

Qualifications

• MD or MD/PhD in a health-related field.
• Board certified or board eligible in Neurology.
• At least six years in clinical care and teaching, plus five years of funded research in Parkinson’s and/or movement disorders.
• Must have or be eligible for a California medical license.

Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient care to movement disorder patients.
• Mentor junior faculty and teach graduate students, residents, and fellows.
• Lead deployment of the center's philanthropic endowment and donor stewardship.
• Engage with UCSD programs to enhance research and clinical visibility.
• Maintain center designations as national centers of excellence.
