Job summary

UC San Diego seeks a neurologist to lead the Parkinson and Other Movement Disorders Center (POMDC) as Professor and Director. The role includes outpatient patient care, mentorship of faculty and trainees, and collaboration across UCSD hospitals in La Jolla and Hillcrest.

The candidate will foster translational research, engage with a broad clinical and scientific portfolio, and oversee the program's endowment and donor relations to advance national recognition.

Qualifications

• MD or MD/PhD in a health-related field.
• Board certified or board eligible in Neurology.
• Six years of clinical care and teaching experience; five years of funded movement disorders research.
• California medical license or eligibility as determined by the Medical Board of California.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Parkinson and Other Movement Disorders Center as Professor and Director.
• Provide outpatient care to movement disorder patients.
• Mentor junior faculty and teach graduate students, residents, and clinical/research fellows.
• Engage with UCSD clinical, translational, and basic science programs to enhance the Center's profile.
• Oversee deployment of the program's philanthropic endowment and donor stewardship.
