Job summary

SKIMS is seeking a hands-on Director of Mobile & Middleware Engineering to own the cloud-based middleware platform and the Flutter mobile application. This leader will set technical direction, build high-performing teams, and partner with Product and Design to deliver scalable, reliable commerce experiences.

Qualifications

• Significant engineering leadership experience managing high-performing teams.
• Strong backend and distributed systems background with cloud focus.
• Deep experience with AWS and cloud-native architectures.
• Experience leading mobile engineering or collaborating with native platforms.

Responsibilities

• Own architecture, health, and evolution of the AWS-based middleware platform.
• Provide technical leadership across TypeScript/Node.js services.
• Oversee Serverless deployments, ensuring security, scalability, and operability.
• Ensure middleware availability, observability, and resilience for high traffic.
• Drive testing, observability, and incident response best practices.
• Partner with Product, Design, QA, Web, Mobile, and Data teams to ship reliable commerce experiences.
