Job summary

RB Global Inc. is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead mobile app development across Web and Mobile, shaping the technical strategy for Product Engineering.

You will mentor engineers, drive performance improvements, and align efforts with product goals while collaborating with PMs to deliver customer-centric capabilities. The role emphasizes native and Flutter development, scalable architecture, and risk-aware delivery in a remote-friendly, hybrid environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or related field.
• 10+ years of software development experience with mobile applications.
• Expertise in native (Swift/Kotlin) and hybrid (Flutter) mobile development with production-grade apps.
• Experience with Spring Framework and building/restful API integrations.
• Familiar with iOS/Android tooling (Xcode, Android Studio).
• Ability to define and drive mobile architecture for scalable systems.
• Strong knowledge of app performance optimization.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containers (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Excellent communication in a remote team environment.
• Familiarity with CI/CD (Bitrise, GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
• Knowledge of testing frameworks (Mockito, Appium, Flutter integration tests).
• Accessibility and inclusive design for mobile apps.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and deployment of scalable mobile applications.
• Define technical vision and architecture for mobile products, Native and Hybrid.
• Provide leadership in Native and Flutter development and performance optimization.
• Ensure code quality while safely deploying changes to production.
• Collaborate with Staff and Sr. Staff Engineers to shape tech strategy.
• Mentor junior to senior engineers through knowledge sharing and guidance.
• Drive performance improvements for Native and Flutter apps.
• Partner with Engineering Managers on team performance and hiring.
• Stay ahead of industry trends and introduce innovative mobile solutions.
• Publish and influence internal and external tech strategy at RB Global.
