Job summary

Kairos Power in Alameda, CA, seeks a Director of Manufacturing Industrialization & Scaling to guide the shift from R&D to scalable, reliable, and cost-effective production. You will coordinate long-range manufacturing roadmaps, make-vs-partner decisions, and capacity growth strategies while aligning across Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance and Operations.

Reporting to the VP of Manufacturing, you will build robust cost models, drive process maturity, and ensure quality, safety and delivery

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
• 12+ years of manufacturing, engineering operations, or R&D infra experience.
• 5+ years in a leadership/people management role.
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams in complex environments.
• R&D labs, pilot plants, or advanced manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Owns the manufacturing industrialization strategy for scaling across facilities and product lines.
• Manages long-range CapEx/OpEx planning and cost-tracking processes to improve visibility and decision-making.
• Partners with engineering, operations, supply chain, and finance to define manufacturability and readiness.
• Pilots processes and technologies to mature control, automation, and cost structures.
• Leads safety, quality, and continuous improvement culture while scaling operations.
