Job summary

Flex is a diversified manufacturing partner based in Milpitas, CA, seeking a Director, Operations to lead the site’s manufacturing strategy and drive operational excellence.

You will oversee SMT, PCBA, Backend Manufacturing, Mechanical Assembly, Box Build, System Integration, and Cleanroom environments, ensuring safety, quality, delivery, and profitability while enabling capacity and scalability for high-volume programs.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 12+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing operations, production leadership, or related discipline.
• 8+ years of leadership experience managing large-scale manufacturing organizations and high-performing teams.
• Experience leading high-volume manufacturing operations within Automotive, Industrial, Cloud Infrastructure, EMS, or related industries.
• Demonstrated success driving operational excellence, productivity improvements, business growth, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute the site's manufacturing strategy to support business growth, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction.
• Oversee manufacturing operations across SMT, PCBA, Backend Manufacturing, Mechanical Assembly, Box Build, System Integration, and Cleanroom Manufacturing environments.
• Drive performance improvements in safety, quality, delivery, productivity, inventory management, and financial results.
• Lead Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, throughput, and operational effectiveness.
• Partner with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Program Management, and Customer Business Units to ensure successful operational execution and customer support.
• Support new product introductions, production transfers, capacity planning, and manufacturing scalability to meet customer demand.
