Job summary

Stella-Jones Corporation seeks a Director of Manufacturing Engineering & Reliability to build a new operating model across North American plants. This senior, working leader will optimize processes, elevate asset reliability, and drive automation within a matrix organization.

The role emphasizes standards development, field coaching, and cross-functional collaboration with PMO, IT/OT, and external partners, while enabling a hybrid schedule and extensive travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent technical education.
• Demonstrated leadership of teams, projects or complex operations.
• Strong communication of technical tradeoffs to frontline and executives.
• Willingness to travel 50–60% across facilities in the US/Canada.

Responsibilities

• Lead five pillars linking plant realities to enterprise strategy.
• Build enterprise reliability and maintenance frameworks.
• Oversee capital projects governance with PMO and external firms.
• Drive automation, controls, and OT initiatives with a solid foundation.
• Establish engineering standards, governance, and knowledge sharing.
