The Director of Maintenance, Operations, and Transportation oversees district-based maintenance, custodial, groundskeeping, transportation, warehouse, and shipping/receiving operations. Responsibilities include developing maintenance programs, ensuring safety and compliance, managing transportation and warehouse functions, supervising staff, and aligning operations with district goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee maintenance, custodial, and groundskeeping operations.
• Manage deferred maintenance programs and preventative maintenance schedules.
• Ensure compliance with building, fire, health, safety, environmental, and accessibility codes.
• Coordinate construction, renovation projects, and safety protocols.
• Lead sustainability initiatives and develop strategic plans.
• Oversee student transportation services, vehicle maintenance, and fleet planning.
• Supervise warehouse operations, inventory, and logistics.
• Recruit, train, supervise staff, and manage budgets.
• Maintain records, reports, and collaborate with stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields; Master’s preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience in operations, with 3 years in leadership.
• Experience in school or public agency operations is desirable.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Regulations (Title 5, Title 24, Cal/OSHA, ADA).
• Facility systems, maintenance strategies, transportation, and inventory management.

Licenses and Certifications:

• Valid California Driver’s License.
• Facilities management or sustainability certifications are desirable.
