Madison Square Garden Entertainment Corp. in Chicago is seeking a Director of Event Production to lead the execution of concerts, special events, and family shows at the Chicago Theatre.

You will manage end-to-end event planning, coordinate with venue departments, and maintain budgets to optimize client experiences. The role requires 8-10 years in live production, strong technical knowledge of rigging, power, safety, and union regulations, plus proven leadership in fast-paced environments.

Qualifications

• 8-10 years' experience in Live Event, Concert, Theatre, or Touring Production with supervision responsibilities.
• Technical knowledge of rigging, power, safety protocols, and union regulations (I.A.T.S.E., I.B.E.W., Theatrical Teamsters).
• Working knowledge of audio and lighting.
• Familiarity with building codes and fire safety specific to MSG venues.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks with financial and operational implications across departments.

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end event planning with clients and venue stakeholders from advancement to load-out.
• Coordinate staging, lighting, sound, client seating, and staffing requirements.
• Generate and maintain event budgets with timely updates and cost tracking.
• Support Chicago administrative and management teams to identify efficiencies and best practices.
• Collaborate with outside agencies to ensure work rules, jurisdictions, codes, and policies are followed.
• Manage union and non-union labor scheduling and direct crews.
• Troubleshoot on event days and respond to emergencies in a fast-paced environment.
• Oversee transition from day-of-event activities to equipment load-out.
• Evaluate client and guest experience through observation and feedback.
• Attend production, security and FOH meetings as Executive on Duty to align expectations and ensure SOPs.
• Ensure guests and staff experience while adhering to appearance and presentation guidelines on-site.
