GuideWell, including its Florida Blue division, seeks a Director level attorney to oversee the enterprise's litigation risk. You will manage diverse lawsuits and provide counsel to senior leadership across the organization.

You will manage outside counsel within budget, develop legal strategies, and partner with business areas on a wide range of matters, while serving as the primary legal contact for external stakeholders. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school with strong academic record and 5+ years of professional experience.
• Bar admission to at least one state bar; Florida Authorized House Counsel certification if bar is elsewhere.
• Litigation experience with a diverse and sizable caseload.
• Knowledge of health insurance laws, regulations and compliance standards.
• Knowledge of corporate and commercial law.
• Experience in developing legal strategies and leading teams.

Responsabilités

• Handle disputes including lawsuits, arbitration, government investigations and prelitigation matters for GuideWell and affiliates.
• Manage outside counsel within budgetary parameters.
• Provide strategic advice to business areas on a wide range of legal matters.
• Act as legal contact for external stakeholders.
• Review and/or draft legal documents.
• Manage complex legal matters or projects with minimal supervision.
• May assume additional responsibilities of the litigation management team.
