Job summary

The New York Botanical Garden seeks a Director of Learning Operations to lead learning and development across the institution, including programs, grants, and AI-enabled learning initiatives. You will supervise a part-time team and partner with senior leadership to align learning with NYBG’s mission.

This role manages annual calendars, LMS, budgets, and evaluation, delivering scalable programs, ensuring accessibility, and advancing IDEA through inclusive education and ethics in AI use.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Organizational Development, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 5-7 years of managerial experience developing and implementing a learning and development framework.
• Experience supervising staff, coordinating workloads, supporting employee development, and ensuring delivery of project commitments.
• Experience managing grant-funded learning or workforce development projects, including work plans, budgets, documentation, evaluation, and reporting.
• Knowledge of AI applications, governance, ethics, and implementation in learning and development; experience designing or managing AI-enhanced learning systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead Learning and Development part-time team members with coaching and workload coordination.
• Turn learning priorities into inclusive, scalable development programs across NYBG.
• Lead grant-funded workforce development projects with milestones, reports, and records.
• Oversee LMS for training delivery, data collection, dashboards, and learning metrics.
• Advance IDEA through inclusive, accessible learning aligned with NYBG priorities.
