Job summary

The New York Botanical Garden is seeking an Associate Director of Professional Learning to create, develop, implement, and manage the Garden’s teacher learning programs. You will enhance the experiences of teachers and students using the Garden’s resources, and promote innovative ways to teach plant-based concepts inside and outside the classroom, including online.

In this leadership role, you will oversee program staff, budgets, and partnerships, ensuring alignment with NGSS and CR-SE

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Education or related field; Master’s preferred.
• Engaging educator in formal or informal settings with strong classroom practice.
• Leadership experience and supervisory capability preferred.
• Familiarity with NGSS and NYC educational standards.

Responsibilities

• Creates, develops, implements, and manages the Professional Learning Program for teachers.
• Produces lesson plans and materials aligned with standards and CR-SE initiatives.
• Oversees budgeting, purchasing, invoices, and attendance reporting.
• Organizes workshops, institutes, and hybrid/online programs for educators.
• Represents NYBG in collaborations with Urban Advantage and related networks.
• Leads staff recruitment, training, and program evaluation.
