You will drive Benchling deployment, support NGS workflows, and guide a cross-disciplinary team across software engineering, bioinformatics, and informatics. Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD with extensive relevant experience as described.
• Experience with Python and AWS to engineer software pipelines.
• Expertise in genomics/NGS, RNA-seq and single-cell sequencing.
• Significant Benchling experience and oligonucleotide/mRNA therapeutics background.

Responsibilities

• Develop software for lab instruments to capture data and transform it into structured form.
• Build and maintain cloud architecture and security hygiene.
• Own the data architecture for scientific data with clear schemas and models.
• Develop and maintain Benchling as the core lab informatics system.
• Oversee and organize bioinformatics development incl. NGS analysis and oligo design.
• Enable computational design and discovery with ML/AI methods.
• Evaluate, negotiate, and manage software vendors and contracts.
• Prepare budget requests and manage purchasing.
