Job summary

Aera Therapeutics in Cambridge, MA seeks an Associate Director of Lab Technologies to lead the software, infrastructure, and computational backbone of the research organization. You will own systems that capture, structure, and act on scientific data, reporting to the CSO and working onsite in Cambridge at least four days per week.

Responsibilities include developing data architectures, maintaining Benchling, overseeing bioinformatics, enabling ML/AI methods, and aligning technical solutions

Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD with extensive industry experience in relevant field.
• Experience with Python and AWS; ability to engineer software infrastructure and analysis pipelines.
• Genomics/NGS expertise, including RNA-seq and single-cell sequencing.

Responsibilities

• Lead software, infrastructure, and computational backbone of the research org.
• Own data architecture, schemas, and model governance for scientific data.
• Develop and maintain Benchling as core lab informatics system and scale features with science.
