Job summary

Beckman Coulter Life Sciences, a Danaher company, is seeking an AI Platform Engineer to build backend services powering automated laboratory workflows. You will connect instruments, cloud infrastructure, and intelligent agents within a scalable platform, enabling secure data access and orchestrated experiments.

The role requires 7+ years in software engineering, hands-on AI/LLM experience, and a focus on production-ready, compliant systems in regulated environments. Travel up to 15% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field.
• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, including hands‑on work with AI-powered products or platforms.
• Experience building LLM-powered applications or multi‑agent systems, including RAG architectures, vector search, orchestration and memory management.
• Experience designing AI platforms and services that securely integrate enterprise data, tools, devices, and software into AI-driven workflows.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals and ability to prototype and deliver production-ready systems.
• Travel up to 15% domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Architect and develop AI platform services, agent-facing APIs, and event-driven back-end systems.
• Design scalable data and context management for LLM-powered systems, including retrieval pipelines and memory management.
• Build and maintain orchestration services coordinating planning, execution and recovery across diverse agents and devices.
• Define data contracts, integration standards, and observability for secure, reliable instrument fleets and platform services.
• Prototype and benchmark emerging AI/agent technologies and mature successful solutions into production.
